6. Disconnect the neutral electrode from the maxium by pulling the plug from its socket, then try to
activate the HF current. You should now hear an alert because the HF current cannot be acti-
vated (output blocked).
7. Reconnect the plug of the NE connecting cable to its socket on the maxium.
Warning
• If the HF current activation signal is heard although neither a footswitch nor an electrode
handle has been connected, then the unit is defective and must be withdrawn from use.
Be sure to have the unit checked and repaired in this case.
• If the HF current activation signal is heard after a footswitch or electrode handle has been
connected to the unit but not operated, this means that the accessory in question is de-
fective and must be replaced.
