In addition, the maxium features a special graphical display indicator that visually informs the user
on how well the neutral electrode has been applied to the patient and whether it maintains good
contact.
If the NE is correctly attached, i.e. if it makes full contact with the patient's skin
across its entire surface so that good electric contact is ensured, the "slide" is in
the green section. If, however, the NE makes only poor contact insufficient for
monopolar current activation, the slide will move to the left (yellow or red sec-
tion).
This indicator is also helpful when searching for the causes of other NE circuit faults that have
nothing to do with insufficient skin contact.
