Polyp II
Like "Polyp I", this is a mixed type of current that automatically alternates between cutting and co-
agulating. "Polyp II" should be preferably used for flat-base, sessile polyps. This current is also
ideal for mucosectomy with the "piece-meal" technique.
Papilla I
This papillotomy current has been designed with almost no additional coagulation content. There-
fore, the degree of coagulation achieved with this current is almost exclusively due to the thermal
relaxation of the tissue during the cutting pauses. This is the current of choice when you use mono-
file wire papillotomes, needle papillotomes or fistulotomes.
Papilla II
This papillotomy current is especially useful when working with wire filament papillotomes or when
strong bleeding is expected. Just as in polypectomy, this is a mixed type of current in which – in-
termittently – a cutting pulse is followed by a special coagulation phase. While this current is similar
to the polypectomy currents as far as the control process is concerned, it has been specially
adapted to the unique environmental conditions of papillotomy.
