Macro Spray
High-voltage coagulation current for non-contact surface coagulation with a low depth effect. This
current allows you to maintain an extremely large distance between the electrode and the tissue
during current activation, irrespective of the selected power setting (i.e. from the lowest power
level, or thermal threshold, to the maximum output power of 150 W). The spray performance of this
current is in fact very similar to that of an argon beamer (air beamer).
The noise produced by this current in the medium and low power ranges may be felt to be un-
pleasant or irritating (sort of hissing, whistling or crackling).
Warning

The high output voltages of the "Macro Spray" current make special demands on the
insulation material of application instruments in terms of electric strength. Therefore, be
sure to check the suitability of your accessories when using this current!
Spray
Like the "Macro Spray" current, this is also a high-voltage current for non-contact surface coagula-
tion with a low depth effect and little carbonization. However, the output voltages of the "Spray"
current are lower in the medium and low power ranges than that of the "Macro Spray" current, so
the electric strength requirements for the insulation materials covering the application accessories
are also correspondingly lower in these ranges. Note that this current is not accompanied by any
unpleasant noise. Both the "Spray" and "Macro Spray" currents are preferably used for hemostasis
in thoracic surgery (e.g., on the sternum) or when operating on parenchymatous tissue.
Endo Spray
Soft spray current for endoscopic surface coagulation, very suitable for endoscopic instruments
whose electric strength is usually rather low for design reasons. Moreover, the "Endo Spray" cur-
rent takes account of the leakage current problems that are particularly prominent in endoscopy for
application-specific reasons.
