Martin maxium & maxium Beamer Operating Instructions
Pulsed Argon: fast repetition rate
Due to the brightness of the argon plasma, it is not possible to assess the thermally induced tissue
change during argon application. Therefore, to dose the power supply correctly, the user usually
interrupts the HF power output with an appropriate control device such as the footswitch.
The pulsed argon mode enables the user to assess tissue change during the pulse pause intervals
and to continue with the application until the intended tissue effect has been achieved. Thus, the
"portioned" power supply to the tissue, automated in pulse mode, supports the so-called "spot
technique".
Pulsed Argon: slow repetition rate
The explanations given for "Pulsed Argon: fast repetition rate" apply to the "slow repetition rate" in
like manner. Due to the longer pulse pauses, tissue checks are even easier in this mode.
