Care Coag
A soft coagulation current equivalent to the "Care Cut" current, specially for use in microsurgery.
Low HF output voltages, high-precision dosage capability and performance stability are prerequi-
sites for minimizing tissue strain in the surgical field. This current is specially useful in neurosurgery
and ENT surgery.
Care Coag Auto Stop
This option combines the "Care Coag" current with the auto-stop function, which automatically
stops energy output once a predetermined degree of coagulation has been reached. This cut-off
criterion can be freely set in accordance with user requirements.
To do so, select "MENU"/"Setup"/"Automatic mode"/"Coagulation degrees". This takes you to a
menu level that allows you to define the desired degree via "Mono coag degree".
Desiccation
This is a volume coagulation current designed for depth coagulation as required in HF-induced
interstitial thermotherapy. To avoid extensive surgical tissue resection, narrowly delimited tissue
areas are thermally necrotized by applying a low-intensity HF current for several minutes through
needle-type coagulation electrodes that are directly inserted into the target tissue. The thermally
coagulated tissue remains in situ. The spread of the coagulation zone is monitored online with im-
aging systems, indicating exactly when sufficient coagulation has been achieved and the current
must be cut off.
Desiccation Auto Stop
Minor myomas can be necrotized by puncture coagulation. Since in this case the user has no vis-
ual monitoring option that enables him/her to assess the thermally induced tissue changes, it is
very advantageous to use the automatic stop function. Once the desired degree of tissue desicca-
tion has been reached, the maxium automatically blocks energy output. Here again, the user can
set the degree of coagulation via "MENU"/"Setup"/"Automatic mode"/"Coagulation degrees"/"Mono
coag degree".
