Safety
2.1
General safety instructions
– Only use the product if it is in perfect technical condition.
– Only use the product in its original condition without unauthorised modifications.
– Observe the identifications on the product.
– Take into account the ambient conditions at the location of use.
– Never remove or insert a plug when the power is switched on.
– Ensure correct protective earthing and shield connection.
– Before working on the product, switch off the compressed air supply and lock it to prevent it from
being switched on again.
– Before working on the product: switch off the power supply and secure it against being switched on
again.
– Observe the tightening torques. Unless otherwise specified, the tolerance is ± 20%.
– Prior to commissioning, ensure that the resulting movements of the connected actuator technology
cannot endanger anyone.
– Keep the documentation safe throughout the entire product lifecycle.
2.2
Intended use
This product is a module for the execution of joining tasks with monitoring of the joining process. The
module can be used within machines or automation systems with a higher-order controller.
Use the product only as follows:
– within the limits of the product defined by the technical data
– in an industrial environment
– permanently mounted
2.3
Foreseeable misuse
Construction of presses with manual loading or unloading in accordance with EC Machinery Directive
2006/42/EC Attachment IV Sec. 9 without further protective measures.
Never use the product as follows:
– With unauthorised modifications or alterations to the product
– With load limits exceeded
– In an invalid mounting position
2.4
Training of qualified personnel
Work on the product may only be carried out by qualified personnel who can evaluate the work and
detect dangers. The qualified personnel have skills and experience in dealing with electropneumatic
(open-loop) control technology.
