Checking the Server Air Flow

Make sure there are no objects to obstruct airflow in and out of the server.
Do not operate the server without drives or drive trays in the drive bays.
Use only recommended server parts.
Make sure no wires or foreign objects obstruct air flow through the chassis. Pull all excess
cabling out of the airflow path or use shorter cables.
The control panel LEDs display system heat status. See "Control Panel" in Chapter 1 for
details.

Overheating

There are several possible responses if the system overheats.
Overheat Temperature Setting
Some backplanes allow the overheat temperature to be set at 45, 50, or 55 by changing a
jumper setting. For more information, consult the backplane user manual at www.supermicro.
com. (Click Support, then the Manuals link.)
