Installing the Memory
Before installing memory, ensure that the memory you have is compatible with the
motherboard and processor. Check the TYAN Web site at
http://www.tyan.com

details of the type of memory recommended for your motherboard.
DDR4/DDR-T Memory Population Guidelines
The Whitley Ice Lake processor has up to eight channel memory interfaces
®
TM
supporting DDR4 and Intel
Optane
PMem memory technology. Each channel
consists of 64 data and 8 ECC bits. Each channel supports up to two DIMMs.
Support is provided for RDIMMs, LRDIMMs, and Intel
®
Optane
TM
PMem memory.
Unbuffered DIMMs and SODIMMs are not supported.
System Level DIMM Population Requirements
A wide variety of DIMM configurations are available. Key parameters used in
defining the various DIMM configurations are listed in the following table. Some Raw
Cards may not support all platform supported speeds.
