There are several different aspects to the setup and configuration of the mobile device. The
examples found in this chapter are to be used as examples only, the configuration of your specific
mobile device computer may vary. The following sections provide a general reference for the
configuration of the mobile device and some of its optional features.
Based on your installed software version and hardware options, your system may not be exactly

on the latest upgrades for your HX3.
Note:

Configuring the HX3 with LXEConnect

Requirements: ActiveSync version 3.8 (or higher) must be resident on the host (desktop/laptop)
Because the HX3 is a headless design, the LXEConnect utility must be used to configure the
HX3. LXEConnect first requires an ActiveSync connection be established.
ActiveSync is already installed on the HX3. The HX3 is preconfigured to establish a USB
ActiveSync connection to a PC when the proper cable is attached to the HX3 and the PC:
**
The USB-A end of the cable connects to a USB port on a desktop or laptop PC. The other end
attaches to the HX3.
Once the HX3 has booted (indicated by the green LED blinking) connect the cables as described.
The ActiveSync connection is automatically established.
LXEConnect allows a user to view the HX3's screen remotely from a PC using an ActiveSync
USB connection.
