is shipped with the printer before continuing with the following instructions.

2. Right click on the appropriate printer driver and select Properties from the menu.
3. In Windows 95/98 select the Details tab and click on the down arrow beside the
Print to the following port: field to display the list of available ports. In NT 4.0
select the Ports tab and scroll down the list of ports.
4. The IPX peer to peer printers (printers with the EcoLAN 2000E installed) are
displayed by their NetWare Print Server Name, e.g., the default name is in the
format KYO-163495. Select the desired printer from the list of ports and click on
OK.
IPX peer to peer printing configuration is complete. Print jobs will now be directed to
the selected printer when the current printer driver is used.
IPX Protocol Notes
When using peer to peer printing over IPX, Novell operation must remain enabled on
the EcoLAN 2000E, even if traditional NetWare printing facilities are not being used.
On power up, the EcoLAN 2000E checks the network to see if there is Novell activity.
If there is, it will use the same frame type and the local network number for IPX peer
to peer that it senses for Novell. If the 2000E does not see any Novell activity, it will
use 802.2 on 802.3 as the frame type and will assign itself a network number of 0. The
frame type and network number in use are reported on the EcoLAN 2000E Network
Status Page.
If the 2000E is moved from a site that had active Novell servers to a site that does not,
the unit should be reset to factory defaults to clear the frame type and network number
information. Reset to factory defaults can be done with MAP or a with a standard web
browser over TCP/IP.

Configuration of Peer to Peer Printing over IP

Windows 95/98 and NT 4.0 TCP/IP Protocol Installation
Each PC that will use peer to peer printing over IP must have the TCP/IP protocol
installed and configured with a valid IP address. If the TCP/IP protocol is not
currently installed, then use of the IPX protocol is recommended, however,
instructions for TCP/IP protocol installation are in the Windows 95/98 LPR Printing
and Windows NT 4.0 LPR Printing sections.
