Terminology The meanings of the terms used in this manual are described in the table below.
Term
Target device This is the device to be emulated.
Target system This is the system to be debugged (system provided by the
user).
This includes the target program and the hardware provided
by the user.

IECUBE 2 Generic name for Renesas Electronics' high-performance,
compact in-circuit emulator.
POD This is IECUBE2 peripheral to interface with the target
system.
Emulator This is the product to emulate the target device.
