Troubleshooting
Slow heat-up.
Door switch does not
cut power to the
furnace chamber.
Repeated element
burnout.
Wrong element.
One or two heating elements are burned out.
Heavy load in chamber.
Low line voltage.
Wrong heating elements.
Door switch is not functioning.
Mechanical relay contacts sticking.
Chamber improperly loaded.
Heating harmful materials.
Overheating furnace.
Oxidized or contaminated thermocouple.
Improper loading.
Poor thermocouple connection.
Solid state relay malfunction.
Thermocouple connections
Replace burned out elements.
Lighten load in chamber to allow heat to
circulate.
Install line of sufficient size and proper
voltage (isolate furnace from other
electrical loads).
Install proper elements.
Re-align or replace door safety switch.
Replace relay.
See loading procedures in start-up
procedure.
Enclose material in container. Clean up
spills on chamber. Ventilate chamber by
leaving door cracked slightly open when
heating known harmful reagents.
Keep furnace under maximum
temperature. Closer supervision Of
control setting.
Replace thermocouple.
Use proper loading procedures. Refer to
start-up procedure.
Tighten connections.
Replace solid state relay.
Reconnect thermocouple correctly.
