6.4 Battery Replacement

Please do not remove the battery when the UPS is in Battery mode.
An easy-to-replace design has been adopted for the battery. Powering off the UPS or disconnecting the load
are not required for battery replacement.
If you prefer to replace the battery after disconnecting the input power supply, please refer to "Powering off
UPS" on Page 31.
Please familiarize yourself with all warnings, notes, and descriptions before replacing the battery.
Battery replacement shall be performed by professionals who are familiar with its characteristics, and
necessary precautions must be taken. Unauthorized personnel shall stay away from batteries.
There is a risk of electric shock or burns if the battery is short-circuited.
Please take the following precautions during operations:
1.
Remove any watch, ring, or other metal objects.
2.
Use tools with an insulated handle.
3.
Do not place tools or any other metallic parts on top of the batteries.
4.
Put on rubber gloves and boots.
For the purpose of battery replacement, use batteries or a battery pack of the same model and
quantity. Please contact your Eaton service representative to order new batteries.
Used and waste batteries shall be disposed of properly. Please refer to your local regulations for
disposal requirements.
Do not throw the battery into a fire, as it may explode when incinerated.
Do not disassemble the battery. The released electrolyte is harmful to skin and eyes and may be
highly toxic.
When connecting the batteries' connection pins, make sure that the battery pack is properly connected
to the UPS. If the batteries are accidentally grounded, disconnect the ground connection.
Electrical energy is dangerous. Do not attempt to modify the wiring or connectors of any battery to
avoid personal injury.
Replacing the internal battery
The internal battery is heavy. Please handle with care.
