7.1.10 Intercostal neuralgia

Definition:

Short-wave treatment relieves tension in muscles and connective tissue. At dosage of 1, it can also be
applied for 2 – 3 minutes in inflammatory condition. The use of coil (induction-field) electrodes rather
than capacitor (dielectric-field) electrodes is recommended.

7.1.11 Ischialgia

Nerve pain. Acute, painful irritation starting from the thoracic spine. Possible
causes of this are nerve root compressions and acute blockages in the area of the
kinetic elements or the joint faces of the vertebral bodies.
Pain relief
Galvanization, Stanger baths, iontophoresis, heat therapy, ultrasonic therapy.
Injections with local anaesthetics in the paravertebral muscles is a tried and
tested treatment.
