OPERATION

BEFORE FIRST USE

A common occurrence with all grease equipment is trapped air pockets in
grease. Trapped air causes zero or reduced grease discharge. Remove air
pockets from grease by priming the gun. Follow the steps in the section
above called Priming the Grease Gun.
PRIMING THE GREASE GUN
1.
Unscrew the grease gun head (C) from the barrel by 2-3 turns.
2.
Unlock the plunger rod (H) from the end cap (F).
3.
Force the plunger rod in and out a few times to compress the grease
and force out trapped air from the loose connection between the grease
gun barrel and head.
4.
Hand tighten the grease gun head fully onto the barrel.
5.
Start operating the grease gun handle (E) until grease starts flowing out
continuously. Note that the first discharge of grease may have some air
bubbles. If grease is accompanied with air bubbles, repeat steps above.
6.
If the grease gun has been in regular use, priming can be done without
removing the grease gun extension and coupler from the grease gun
head.
