13. Maintenance

13.1 Intervals for cleaning and maintenance

Exchanging the tube of the peristaltic pump

When the tube of the pump is worn out.

Cleaning the filter

If high contamination is evident.
If pressure drops considerably.
Every 12 months.

Cleaning measuring cell AQC-D5

If high contamination is evident.
On occurrence of faults.
Every 12 months.
Replacing wear parts
If they are damaged.
Every 12 months.
Prior to maintenance work: Switch off the

DIA and switch off the AQC-D5
preassembled system as described.
13.2 Exchanging the tube of the peristaltic pump

13.2.1 Tube exchange
1. Turn the locking bar (pos. 1) clockwise.
2. Take the ribbon (pos. 4) together with the tube (pos. 3) and
connection piece (pos. 2) out of the dovetail guides.
3. Remove the tube (pos. 3) by taking out the connection pieces
(pos. 2).
4. Insert a new tube (pos. 3).
5. When remounting the ribbon (pos. 4), start at the starting side
(pos. 5).

13.3 Cleaning the filter
1. Set the controller to manual operation to avoid overdosing or
fault alarm in automatic sample water monitoring.
Observe the installation and operating instructions of the
measuring amplifier and controller!
2. Close the sample water inlet.
3. Unscrew the filter cup, and remove the filter seat from the
filter housing.
4. Loosen the screwed connection at the upper end of the filter
seat.
5. Withdraw the filter strainer, and clean it with running water.
Use a small soft brush, if applicable.
6. Re-assemble the filter in reverse order.
7. Check the tightness of the filter.

adjust, if necessary.
13.4 Cleaning measuring cell AQC-D5
The measuring cell must only be dismantled by

authorised personnel.
When removing the flow fitting, the cleaning motor

can remain screwed onto the mounting plate.
13.4.1 Dismantling instructions for the measuring cell
1. Close the final control element, and/or switch off the
measuring amplifier and controller.
2. Close the sample water inlet (pos. J).
3. Loosen the screw at the sample water deficiency sensor (pos.
I), and remove the sensor.
4. Remove the sample water inlet (pos. J) and outlet (pos. K) by
loosening the cap nuts at the flow fitting (pos. F).
5. Loosen the electrode cable, and withdraw the plug (pos. N) of
the counter-electrode (pos. M).
Please mark the electrodes and measuring cables
with the corresponding colours, if this has not yet

been done!
6. Unscrew the electrodes with a 17 mm wrench, and cover them
with the protective caps filled with potassium chloride (product
number 96688696 (549-052)).
7. Remove the plexiglass flow fitting (pos. F) and store
horizontally.
8. Unscrew the screw part (pos. O) with the magnetic stirring
stone using the enclosed face spanner.
Carefully remove the screw part (pos. O) and hold it
horizontally, so that the cleaning balls do not drop

out.
9. Take the balls out and store them with care.
10. Remove the stone and the sliding disk.
11. Remove the cover of the sample water limitation (pos. G).
12. Unscrew the adjusting spindle at the sample water adjusting
device (pos. L).
13. Unscrew the floater stopper, and remove the floater.
