9.3 Checking magnetic stirring stone and filling in
cleaning ball
1. Unscrew the protective cap (pos. C) at the flow fitting (pos. F).
2. Remove the tube part (transport protection) from the drilled
hole.
Prior to installation of the potentiostatic electrode
(pos. E), do the following:
Note
– Check the position of the magnetic stirring
stone (cleaning motor)!
Fill the cleaning balls into the electrode holder!
9.3.1 Visual inspection of magnetic stirring stone
1. Remove the position stabiliser from the magnetic stirring
stone.
The position of the stone might be changed by vibrations of the
flow fitting during transport.
2. Check if the stone is still seated flat on the lower edge of the
screw part.

If the stone is in a wrong position, the screw part or
Caution
the electrode might be damaged when installing the
potentiostatic electrode.
9.3.2 Adding the cleaning balls
Adding the cleaning balls
Fig. 8
Cut off about 3-4 mm of one edge of the cleaning balls packet,
and carefully fill the 15 balls into the hole (pos. C) of the
potentiostatic electrode (pos. E).
Look into the mounting hole (pos. C):
All balls must be placed in the measuring chamber.
Caution
No ball may be placed above the electrode centering
(black ring with centering indentation).

9.4 Screwing in potentiostatic electrode
1. Remove the protection cover of the potentiostatic measuring
and reference electrode (pos. E) (green marking). Keep it for
electrode removal.
Only touch the electrode at the screwed head!
Caution
Do not touch the noble-metal ring!
2. Slide the electrode (pos. E) into the location (pos. B) at the
hole of the flow fitting (pos. F) with the noble-metal ring at the
bottom.

Caution
Do not tighten the electrode (pos. E)!
3. Open the measuring water inlet (pos. J).
4. Adjust the flow through the measuring block by the sample
water adjusting spindle (pos. L) so that water emerges out of
the ascending pipe (pos. G) of the integrated sample water
limitation.
5. Connect the cleaning motor (pos. H) with the power supply.
6. Carefully screw in the electrode (pos. E) until it stops.
When screwing in the electrode (pos. E), do not
block the stone!
Caution
If the electrode is screwed in by force, the screw part
or the electrode might be damaged, instead, loosen
electrode by turning it half circle and re-screw in.
9.4.1 Installing pH and redox electrodes
See fig. 9.
1. Remove the protective caps (pos. A1/A2) at the flow fitting.
2. If required, screw in the pH electrode (white marking) into one
of the locations (pos. A1/A2).
3. If required, screw in the redox electrode) (red marking) into
one of the locations (pos. A1/A2).
See the instructions of the electrodes!
