MASTER BLACK control
Adjusts the master black level.
RELATIVE button
Press on or off to select the master black adjustment
mode.
Relative mode (the button is lit): An absolute
correspondence between the position of the
MASTER BLACK control and the adjustment
value does not exist. The position of the control
when the relative mode is selected serves as
reference points for subsequent adjustment. The
center position does not always correspond with
the middle value within the possible adjustment
range.
Absolute mode (the button is off): An absolute
correspondence exists between the positions of the
MASTER BLACK control and the adjustment
values. The center position always corresponds to
the middle value within the possible adjustment
range.
Note
The relative mode is automatically selected when:
—the BKP-5973 is not active.
—automatic adjustment has completed.

Front panel
—a scene file is recalled.
—the IRIS/MB indicator is off (the RELATIVE
button does not work at this time).
qj IRIS setting section
AUTO button
Press this button for automatic adjustment of the iris.
This button lights when the automatic adjustment is in
progress. Press again to manually adjust the iris.
IRIS control
Adjusts the iris manually when the AUTO button is
off. When the AUTO button lights, you can turn this
control to change the reference value for the automatic
iris adjustment within a range of ±1F.
IRIS/MB active indicator
When the remote control panel or the master setup unit
is connected to the CCU-550 series unit and the
connected device becomes active, this indicator goes
off and setting of the master black and iris on the
CCU-550 series unit is disabled.
To activate the CCU-550 series unit again, press the
PANEL ACTIVE button.
EXTENDER indicator
Lights when a lens extender is being used on the video
camera.
