7.9. Replacing the protective fuses
Comply with the technical specifications for fuses.
Using the wrong fuse may cause damage to the generating set.
Important
Replace the fuses in the event of failures due to overcurrents. Before replacing worn fuses with new ones, always investigate the cause
of the failure and overcurrent* (* call one of our agents).
Turn the MODYS key (fig. A - no. 10) to "OFF": the generating set stops.
Unscrew the 12V fuse holder for the MODYS and lighting (fig. A - no. 17) and the 230V fuse-holder for the MODYS and the
working hours counter (fig. A - no. 18).
Visually check the condition of both fuses.
Replace the worn fuse(s) with a new one of the 5x20 type, rating 2A.
Screw the two fuse holders back in.
7.10.
Cleaning the generating set
Washing with water using a hosepipe is not recommended.
Washing with a high-pressure hose is not permitted.
Attention
Remove all dust and debris from around the exhaust silencer (fig. A - mark 14).
Clean the generating set and in particular the air inlets and outlets of the engine and alternator using a cloth and a brush.
Check the general condition of the generating set and, if necessary, replace any faulty parts.

8. Storing the generating set

In the event of the generating set not being used for a long period, it must be stored in accordance with the guidelines below.
Close the fuel tap (fig. A - no. 7 & fig C - no. 1).
Drain the fuel into a suitable container.
A) Disconnect the fuel line downstream of the fuel filter (fig. C - no. 3).
B) Open the fuel tap.
C) Once draining is complete, reconnect the fuel filter line.
Start up the generating set (see § Starting-up) and let it run until it runs out of fuel and stops.
Turn the MODYS key (fig. A - no. 10) to "OFF".
Remove the spark plugs (fig. A - no. 21) (see § Spark plug inspection) and pour no more than 15ml engine oil into the cylinder
through the spark plug hole before refitting the spark plug.
Turn the MODYS key to "ON".
Press the "START" button of the MODYS (fig. A - no. 9) once. After the first start-up attempt , turn the MODYS key to "OFF".
Renew the engine oil (see § Renewing the engine oil), replace the oil filter (see § Replacing the oil filter).
Disconnect the starter battery (fig. A - no. 13).
Clean the exterior surfaces of the generating set, apply an anti-rust product on damaged surfaces and cover it with a protective
cover to protect it from dust.
Store the generating set in a clean, dry place.
