After having terminated the recording by the measure-
ment instrument the message - - - - is displayed on the
main screen of the measurement instrument. Further
secondary displays, such as memory address number
and time remain displayed if the HOLD mode has been
selected. If no key is pressed during the following 2
hours, the thermometer switches off automatically.
The saved values are maintained in the memory.
If the operating voltage fails during an active recording
process, all data available within the memory are lost.
The failure of the operating voltage can occur for:
a) empty batteries
b) operation using external supply (without additional bat-
teries) and distribution voltage failure.

6.0 Maintenance

When using the instrument in compliance with the instruc-
tion manual, no special maintenance is required. Should op-
erational problems occur during daily use, our consulting
service (phone 0049(0)7684/8009-29) will be at your dis-
posal, free of charge.For any queries regarding the instru-
ment, please always quote product designation and serial
number, both marked on the type shield label on instrument
rear. If functional errors occur after expiration of warranty,
our after sales service will repair your instrument without
delay.

6.1 Cleaning

If the instrument is dirty after daily usage, it is advised to
clean it by using a humid cloth and a mild household deter-
gent.
Prior to cleaning, ensure that instrument is switched
off and disconnected from external voltage supply and
any other instruments connected (such as UUT, con-
trol instruments, etc.).
Never use acid detergents or dissolvants for cleaning.
Do not use the instrument until complete drying.
