Description of the key functions
ON/OFF
To switch the instrument on or off, to activate the screen
backlight and the auto power off function.
The instrument is switched off
a) Activate the automatic power off function: When pres-
sing the ON/OFF key, the instrument is switched on with
activated auto power off function, i.e. an automatic
power off is carried out after approx. 10 min. The sym-
bol "APO" is displayed in the top center of the screen.
b) Deactivate the automatic power off function (APO): When
pressing the lamp key and ON/OFF (Therm 200) or SHIFT
+ ON/OFF (Therm 300), the instrument switches on, whe-
reby the auto power off function is deactivated, i.e. no
automatic power off will take place. The deactivation of
this function can be recognized by the absence of the
"APO" symbol.
A brief display check is performed after having
switched on the instrument.

a) Backlight – background illumination of the display:
brief pressing of this key turns the backlight on or off.
The automatic power off is performed after approx
2 min
b) Switch off the instrument: When pressing the key for a
longer time the instrument switches off
LIMIT ↓ and LIMIT ↑
To activate the alarm function and to set the limit values.
Within the different measurement types, the setting al-
ways refers to the main display. I.e. when selecting the
measurement type T1-T2, the difference between both
values is checked; when selecting the measurement
type T1+T2, the sum of both values is checked.
