900102_A - Introduction Introduction 2.1. Overview The DIGITEL SPC-NEG is a modern NEG pump controller, suitable to operate NEG pumps with a pumping speed of up to 400 l/s. The SPC-NEG can not only push a current into the NEG's heater, but uses pre- defined routines, with certain parameters, such as current values or heating duration. -

900102_A - Installation Installation Note the following when you install the SPC-NEG ▪ The SPC-NEG can be mounted in a standard 19 in. (48.3 cm) rack or used as a free-standing unit. A 19 in. Rack adapter kit (Part 310057) and Half- rack adapter kit (Part 360242) are available as an option. -

900102_A - Operation Operation 6.1. NEG conditioning cycle Conditioning cycle should be performed once after NEG pump was exposed to atmosphere. Conditioning will bring NEG pump temperature to 150-200 °C in order to drive water out of the NEG pump material. System pressure must not exceed 1x10 Torr during conditioning cycle or NEG pump damage may occur. -

900102_A - Fault finding Fault finding Fault Open Loop Error seen on front screen Cause The controller is able to ramp up the output voltage but no current is being drawn. Remedy Check and make sure that the cable is properly connected between the controller and NEG pump. -
