3. 3 Intended Use of this Manual This manual is intended to be used by trained operators of the equipment and Atlas Copco IAS personnel when operating or maintaining the Self Pierce Riveting (SPR) equipment described. The information contained within this manual is provided as a guide for the intended use of the Henrob Self Pierce Riveting (SPR) equipment only.

It contains the HMI (Human-Machine Interface), Servo Drive, I/O and all necessary power/communications and safety circuits. The control logic (software) is contained in the servo drive internal PLC (Programmable Logic Controller).

Unity Controller R9 Variants, Issue 13 6. 2 Internal WARNING If the system is turned off using the local disconnect there will still be live wires connected to the top of the disconnect NOTE Ensure filters in the Fan Enclosures of the Controller are checked regularly for blockage.

Unity Controller R9 Variants, Issue 13 7. 2 Siting of Controller The Controller is mounted onto a stand. This must be set on an even, stable floor as close as possible to the riveting tool, in order to keep cable lengths to a minimum.
Unity Controller R9 Variants, Issue 13 Operation 8. 1 System Start-up Check The system start-up check is to help the operator verify that the riveting system is in the proper condition before operating. This assumes that the system has previously been operationally tested, not undergoing an initial start-up after any major maintenance or modification.

Depending on which permission level the operator is logged in to, different settings, parameters and information is available. 8. 3 Modes of Operation MANUAL MODE Commands for riveting come from the user.
