Graphics Board Architecture

The HP V
fx Open GL 3D graphics hardware accelerator is actually made up of
ISUALIZE
several graphics boards:
• The main board contains the bridge chip (which provides the interface to the AGP bus),
two geometry accelerators, frame buffer memory, two rasterizer chips and the
RAMDAC chip.
• A VGA board is connected to the main board such that the video output is analog
switched between the RAMDAC and the VGA chip.
• An optional texture board with a dual texture mapping chip and 32 MB of SDRAM
memory, running at 100 MHz, that may be installed as an accessory.
