Pre-Out Configuration

The ELAN IP Amp pre-outs are configurable just like the speaker outputs . They can be used in conjunction
with a zone that has speaker outputs or can be used as a separate zone . They can be set to a Fixed or Variable
output as well . Common uses include:
Pre-out zone / 70 volt / AVR
If we set the output to its own zone with the pre-outs set to variable, we will be able to control the volume
because the pre-outs are feeding an external amplifier . We can also set the output(s) to Fixed . It can also be
used as a single output, such as the speaker outputs or with two for Stereo or any combination .
Sub output
Using a pre-out for a sub is also common . This can be done easily by setting the output to the zone it will
join . Typically, you will set this to be a Variable output . The gain adjustment is useful for setting the bass level
after the sub has been positioned . When sent to Sub, the crossover frequency is set to 100Hz .
