VFI4 Visual Fault Identifier
The VFI4 is a visible red laser source designed to troubleshoot faults on fiber
optic cables.

Inspecting Cables

Note: Clean connectors on cables before connecting them to VFI4!
Attach the inspected cable to the 2.5 mm (or 1.25 mm) Universal adapter
installed on the VFI4 optical port.
When the VFI4 is Off to turn it On in either mode:
– 2 Hz mode: Press and hold the On/Off button for 1.5 seconds
– CW mode: Press and hold the On/Off button for 3 seconds
Green LED will illuminate to indicate that VFI4 is on.
Observe the inspected cable for faults.
Press the On/Off button to turn the VFI4 off.
Warning! The VFI4 is a registered
FDA Class IIIa/IEC Class 3R Laser Product.
Never look directly into optical output!
