2.20 Software Overview

The TS2000 software consists of three major modules. These modules
are the main application, the PM software, and the FoxPro database
management software.
The main application runs on the Computer under MS-Windows NT
and controls the entire system. It runs the graphic user interface, the
system self-test, sends instructions to the PM and receives data from
the PM (via RS232 link and parallel I/O card) in order to gather the
raw data. It sends the processed data to be stored in the database (via
software DDE Channel). In addition, the main application takes the
processed data and interprets it into visual images (via display
procedures). The main application can also draw the data graphically
and provide several processing functions.
The PM software runs on its own microprocessor on the Processing
Module board. It interprets the instructions sent by the main
application, gathers the raw data, and sends it back to the main
application (via RS232 link and parallel I/O card).
The FoxPro database management software runs on the PC under MS
Windows NT. It communicates with the main application via a DDE
channel. The processed data is sent by the main application to be
stored in the database. The software can also recall the stored data and
send it back to the main application for replay, upon request. The
database stores information about the patient (such as demographic
data, clinical data, history etc.) for later use. The database can also be
used to graphically depict the location of the finding on top of a torso
image. The database is also responsible for printing reports upon
request. See
