5. PARTS REPLACEMENT

NOTE:

5.1 Replacing the Computer

The replacement of the parts described in this
section must be followed by a functional test. See
section 7.4.
Each intervention (replacement or repair) must be
recorded in the "records of service visits" in the
manual.
Turn the system power off. Disconnect any cables that have

access to the electrical outlet.
Disconnect the main power connection, the power to the modem,

the power cables from the monitor, the cables from the PM board,
and the probe cables from the PSB.
Open the back of the case and remove the monitor, mouse,

keyboard, printer and modem cables from the computer and move
the case from the cart to a table.
Open the upper cover of the main system enclosure (Main
4.
Console) by unscrewing the four screws (two on each side).
Remove the bottom of the main system enclosure by unscrewing
5.
the four screws (two on each side) that secure it in place.
From inside the system, unscrew the three screws that are located
6.
on the upper front panel.
Turn the whole system over and unscrew the three screws that are
7.
located on the inside of the bottom front panel.
Turn the system right side up again. Disconnect the front panel
8.
switch (the connector that is on the right side of the T1
transformer). Even though the switch is disconnected, it should
remain in the "OFF" position.
Remove the entire front panel. There are two edges on the sides of
9.
the front panel; unscrew the four screws that secure it (two on the
bottom and two on the top). These screws can be accessed from
the front of the main system enclosure.
Disconnect all the cables from the Computer connection panel
10.
(located in the back of the system). This includes computer power
and communication cables.
