Using the unit

When used on the stand
WARNING
Minimum clearance between the lower edge of the
phototherapy lamp and the patient = 30 cm. Risk of
patient overheating.
Phototherapy in incubator
Example: Incubator 8000 NC
1 Loosen the clamp and adjust the height of the stand for the
intensity of light required (see table, page 28).
Re-tighten the clamp.
Push the base of the stand under the incubator from the
rear until the lamp housing is centred over the incubator.
2 Lock the castors (where applicable). The trolley can no
longer be moved.
Phototherapy in warming cot with radiant heater
Example: Babytherm 8000 OC
3 Loosen the clamp and adjust the height of the stand for the
intensity of light required (see table, page 28).
Re-tighten the clamp.
Push the base of the stand under the warming cot from the
rear.
4 Turn the setscrew and tilt the Phototherapy Unit
(max. 30° possible) until the light shines on the side of the
patient.
Radiant heat from the heater must reach the patient
unimpeded.
5 Lock the castors (where applicable), so that the trolley can
no longer be moved.
When used without the stand
The lamp may also be placed on the canopy of the incubator
itself or on the canopy of the warming cot.
Check the load bearing capacity of the canopy!
Check the stability of the phototherapy lamp!
Minimum clearance to the patient = 30 cm!
Secure the lamp to prevent it from falling!
