3.4 Replacing the Power Supply/ 更换电源 / 更換電源
HPC-8424 requires a 2U-high power supply. Follow the steps below to replace the
power supply,
1. Unplug the power cord from the power outlet.
2. Remove the rear section of the top cover.
3. Unplug the 20-pin (or 24-pin) ATX power connector and 4/8-pin +12 V power
connector from the motherboard, as well as the power connectors connected to
the front SAS backplane and rear HDD backplane.
4. Loosen the 5 screws of the fan duct on the side of the chassis, the 4 screws on
the rear HDD bracket, the 4 screws on the power bottom bracket, 2 screws at
the bottom of the power supply and the 4 screws on the rear panel. Gently
remove the chassis (see Figure 3.5).
5. Replace the old power supply and fasten the new power supply to the chassis.
6. Plug the 20-pin (or 24-pin) ATX power connector and 4/8-pin +12 V power con-
nector to the motherboard. Connect the other power connectors the front SAS
backplane, rear HDD backplane, and peripherals.
7. Replace the rear top cover. Plug in the power cord.
