Determine if a firmware upgrade is needed
SPG70UP Field Upgrade Instructions
Tektronix releases software and firmware updates for products to add new features
and to fix product problems. You can find the latest firmware for your product at
the Tektronix Web site (www.tek.com/downloads).
Although you do not need to upgrade the firmware as part of an Option DPW
upgrade, we recommended that you verify your instrument has the latest firmware
installed when performing upgrades. Proceed as follows:
Before you begin the upgrade, perform the following steps to determine if the
firmware on your instrument should be upgraded and to backup your user files.
CAUTION.
The firmware upgrade process replaces all installed user files with the
factory default files. To prevent the loss of your user files, including custom test
signals, logo and ID text overlays, and saved presets, be sure to backup all of your
user data before you perform the upgrade. The following procedure includes
instructions for backing up your user data.
1. Power on the instrument.
2. Verify the current firmware version installed on the instrument:
a. Press the SYSTEM button to access the SYSTEM menu.
b. Press the up (▲) or down (▼) arrow button to select SYSTEM :
VERSION INFO (F/W).
c. In the second line of the display, note the firmware version number of
the instrument.
