9. Troubleshooting

The checklist below may help you troubleshoot in the unlikely event that a problem
occurs while using the product.
Symptom
No response from
fixture.
Fixture resets
correctly but
does not respond
(or does not
respond
correctly) to the
controller.
Error after fixture
reset.
Mechanical
effect loses
position.
Light output cuts
out intermittently.

Possible cause
No power to fixture.
Fuse blown or internal
fault.
Bad data link.
Data link not
terminated.
Incorrect fixture
addressing.
A fixture is defective
and is disturbing data
transmission on the
link.
Effect requires
mechanical
adjustment.
Mechanical train
requires cleaning,
adjustment, or
lubrication.
Fixture too hot.
Suggested action
Check that power is turned on.
Check cables and connections.
Contact GLP Service or authorized
service partner. Do not remove base
or yoke covers. Do not attempt to
replace a fuse or carry out any
repairs or service that are not
described in this User Manual unless
you have both authorization from
GLP and official GLP service
documentation.
Inspect connections and cables.
Correct poor connections. Repair or
replace damaged cables.
Insert DMX termination plug in data
output socket of last fixture on data
link.
Check fixture address and DMX
mode settings.
Unplug DMX IN and THRU connectors
and connect them directly together
to bypass one fixture at a time until
normal operation is regained. Have
defective fixture serviced by an
authorized technician.
Check fixture's software version and
error messages for more information.
