Setting the Password for
Network Access
Authentication
Always configure a password for network access
authentication for use of the network functions of
the camcorder. If a password is not configured,
the network cannot functions cannot be used.
Set the password using Access Authentication
>Password in the Network menu.
The Password field is blank when network
functions are used for the first time.
The NETWORK upgrade license (option) is
required to use network functions.
Notes
• From a security standpoint, it is recommended that you
set a password with a sufficiently long character string
that is hard to guess by others, and that you store it
safely.
• Password configuration is required to set and execute
the following setup menu items. If a password is not
configured, the menu items are grayed out. If you
select a menu item that is grayed out, a "Set the
"Password" of "Access Authentication"." message
appears for 3 seconds.
