Review the following points. For details, see the corresponding pages.
Problems
Power does not turn on.
No image appears.
Image is fuzzy.
Color is pale or grayish.
No audio.
Remote control does not
respond.
Menu screen does not
appear.
Buttons on the control
panel do not operate.
Image does not display
correctly.
Image from a computer
does not appear.
Image output from DVI-D
of the computer does not
appear.
Chapter 6  Maintenance — Troubleshooting
f Is the power plug firmly inserted into the outlet?
f Is the <MAIN POWER> switch set to <OFF>?
f Is the wall outlet supplying electricity?
f Have the circuit breakers tripped?
f Is the light source indicator <LIGHT> blinking?
f Is the temperature indicator <TEMP> lit or blinking?
f Are connections to external devices correctly performed?
f Is the input selection setting correct?
f Is the [BRIGHTNESS] adjustment setting at a minimum?
f Is the external device that is connected to the projector working properly?
f Is the shutter function in use?
f If the power indicator <ON (G)/STANDBY (R)> is blinking red, consult your dealer.
f Is the lens focus set correctly?
f Is the projection distance appropriate?
f Is the lens dirty?
f Is the projector installed perpendicular to the screen?
f Are [COLOR] and [TINT] adjusted correctly?
f Is the external device connected to the projector adjusted correctly?
f Is the computer cable damaged?
f Is the external device connected correctly to the audio input terminal?
f Is the mute function used?
f Is [AUDIO IN SELECT] in [AUDIO SETTING] correctly set?
f Are the batteries depleted?
f Is the polarity of the batteries set correctly?
f Are there any obstructions between the remote control and the remote control signal
receiver of the projector?
f Is the remote control being used beyond its effective operation range?
f Are other forms of light, such as fluorescent light, affecting the projection?
f Is the [REMOTE CONTROL] setting in [CONTROL DEVICE SETUP] set to
[DISABLE]?
f Is the ID number setting operation correct?
f Is the on-screen display function turned off (hidden)?
f Is the [CONTROL PANEL] setting in [CONTROL DEVICE SETUP] set to [DISABLE]?
f Is [SYSTEM SELECTOR] set properly?
f Is [COMPUTER IN/OUT] set correctly?
f Is there a problem with the video tape or other image sources?
f Is a signal which is not compatible with the projector being input?
f Is the cable too long? (For D-Sub cables, the cable length should be 10 m (32'10")
or shorter.)
f Is the external video output on the laptop computer set correctly? (Ex.: The external
output settings may be switched by pressing the "Fn" + "F3" keys or the "Fn" + "F10"
keys simultaneously. This will differ depending on the model of the computer. Refer
to the user manual provided with your computer.)
f It may get improved by replacing the HDMI/DVI-D conversion cable.
f It may get improved by updating the graphic accelerator driver of the computer to
the latest version.
f It may get improved by rebooting the computer after setting the [DISPLAY OPTION]
menu → [HDMI IN] → [HDMI1] / [HDMI2] → [EDID SELECT] to [2K].
