FIRMWARE UPGRADE
Upgrade firm ware t o one scanner at a t im e. For exam ple, t urn off each of t he rest
scanners when t here is m ore t han one scanner connect ed t o host com put er.
Not e: I n case it fails downloading due t o low bat t ery, m ake sure t he t arge scanner is
loaded wit h a good bat t ery and t he bat t ery charge is enough. When t he scanner
t ries t o ent er t he download m ode and det ect s low bat t ery charge rem aining, you
will hear one short beep t hen one long beep ( high- low t one) accom panied by t he
red LED indicat or flashing five t im es. Then t he upgrade t ask is abort ed.
I n order t o avoid dat a loss during firm ware upgrade. Please save or upload all t he
dat a from t he flash m em ory before beginning firm ware upgrade.
HOW TO UPGRADE 1662/1664 FIRMWARE
USING 3610
1) Connect 3610 t o t he USB port of PC aft er inst alling it s driver.
2) Refer t o
3.1.1 Connect t o 3610
Read t he " Set Connect ion" label first , and t hen t he " Serial Num ber" label. Bot h labels
can be locat ed at t he back of 3610.
3) Read t he following barcodes in sequence t o configure t he scanner t o use USB Virt ual
COM as t he download int erface.
Not e: For 1662/ 1664, also choose t o use " Direct " USB Virt ual COM int erface.
4) Read t he following barcodes in sequence for t he scanner t o ent er download m ode.
The scanner will respond wit h beeps t o indicat e it is ready for downloading.
