4.1 Parameters/address space
Value status (Quality Information, QI)
The value status is always returned with the following configuration options:
• DI 8x24VDC QI,
• DI 8x24VDC MSI
Evaluating the value status
An additional byte is occupied in the input address space if you enable the value status for
the I/O device. Bits 0 to 7 in this byte are assigned to a channel and return information about
the validity of the digital input value.
Bit = 1: No error on channel.
Bit = 0: Error on channel.
Note
Value status with diagnostics
With pending diagnostics, the value status of the affected channel is always 0.
Exception: If you disable the wire-break check and wire-break diagnostics parameter, the
value status is not affected by a wire break.
Address space for configuration as 1 x 8-channel DI 8x24VDC QI
The following figure shows the address space allocation for the configuration as 8-channel
I/O device digital inputs with value status. The start address for the I/O device can be assigned
freely. The addresses of the channels are derived from the start address. The figure
illustrating the address space with configuration as 1 x 8-channel DI 8x24VDC shows the
assignment of the channels with single or dual assignment of the sockets.
