6.4 REPLACEMENT PARTS LIST

POSSIBLE CAUSE
1.
Clogged or dirty pads.
2.
Dry pads or lack of water while cooler is in operation.
3.
Insufficient air discharge openings or inadequate
exhaust from area being cooled, causing high
humidity.
4.
High Humidity.
5.
Fan running backwards.
6.
Fan running slowly.
1.
Circuit breaker tripped or fuse blown.
2.
Loose electrical connections.
3.
Faulty control switch
4.
Faulty motor
5.
Loose pulley or belt
6.
Broken belt
1.
Belt loose.
2.
Pulleys not correctly aligned.
3.
Wet belt.
1.
Pump motor faulty.

Incorrect wiring of pump and control switch.

REMEDY
1.
Clean or replace pads.
2.
Check water distribution system for possible
obstruction in tubing. Check pump operation.
Check water flow restrictor and level of unit.
3.
Make sure there is adequate provision for
exhausting air from area being cooled.
4.
When outside humidity is high, evaporation rates
will be low, thus reducing efficiency of cooler.
Turn off 'cool' switch for best results.
5.
Rewire motor for correct rotation.
6.
Check motor amps. If below the maximum amps
( refer to data plate) re-adjust motor pulley to
increase speed.
1.
Check circuit breaker for motor start-up and draw
suitability.
2.
Check and tighten all connections.
3.
Replace.
4.
Replace and determine reason for fault.
5.
Tighten pulleys and belts to manufacturers'
specifications.
6.
Replace and tighten to correct tension.
1.
Tighten belt to manufacturers' specified tension.
2.
Adjust alignment and check with an alignment
tool.
3.
Stop any water leaking onto belt from pad
assembly or distribution system and adjust water
restrictions as per commissioning documentation.

Replace Pump
2.
Refer to wiring diagrams in Appendix A.
3.
Check all connections and tighten as required.
4.
Replace switch
1.
Adjust ball valve/float assembly.
2.
Remove, clean and replace.
3.
Remove, clean and replace.

Adjust float valve

Replace Valve
1.
Adjust motor alignment.
2.
Tighten belt by adjusting motor platform or tighten
belt.
3.
Increase grille size.
4.
Tighten all connections.

Increase the bleed rate.

Relocate the intake or remove the odour source.

Will go after a short time
3.
Drain tank and clean thoroughly, fill with new
clean water and install new pads.
4.
Allow fan to run for further 10 minutes after pump
has been shut off.
5.
Replace any cracked or broken tubing.
1.
Ensure filter pads are correctly installed.
2.
Replace with new filter pads.
3.
Check restrictor tap setting and adjust if required.
