Using motors under adverse circumstances can require a higher degree of
protection than the standard protection mode with radial shaft sealing ring
(IP65). Especially if motors are used in areas, in which the use of oil-contain‐
ing cooling lubricants places the highest demands on the tightness of the mo‐
tors. For these applications, we recommend the use of sealing air in addition
to the rotary shaft seal.
Air-pressure connectors are available as accessory for MAD/MAF motors
with frame size 100 ... 160 with device connector for power connection.

The proper sealing function of the rotary shaft seal is important for
the safe function of the sealing air application. Observe the infor‐
mation about maintenance intervals
The assembly instruction is enclosed to the selected accessory.
MAD/MAF motors are suited for mounting of gearboxes and planetary gear‐
boxes.
Bosch Rexroth recommends gearboxes of GTM series, which are compatible
for these motors. When selecting the gearboxes, refer to the information
about the type code of GTM gearboxes.
