When the motor is used under adverse conditions, a higher degree of protec‐
tion than the standard one (IP 65 with radial shaft sealing ring) may be re‐
quired. This is especially the case when the motors are used in areas where
the tightness of the motor seals must meet highest requirements because oily
cooling lubricants are used. In these areas of application, we recommend that
you use sealing air in addition to the radial shaft sealing ring.
Sealing air connections are available as accessory parts for 2AD motors of
frame sizes 100 to 164, which are equipped with connector socket for power
connection.
