Maintenance

6.1
Maintenance interval
According to standard specifications, maintenance must be carried out at the following intervals:
1/4-yearly for systems in commercial operations
1/2-yearly for systems in apartment buildings
yearly for systems in single-family homes
Visual inspection
The system must be checked once every month by the operator through observation of two switching cycles for opera-
tional ability and leak-tightness.
6.2
Maintenance instructions
Maintenance must be carried out by a technical specialist.
CAUTION
The access steps can be wet. Risk of slipping off and falling.
When entering the chamber, wear a helmet to avoid knocks and scratches to the head.
CAUTION
Careful when bending down in the chamber. Risk of falling in the chamber if you lose your balance.
Follow the enclosed pump instructions when carrying out maintenance work
Do not undo pump fixings (between pump handle and pressure pipe). Unwanted lever effects can occur on the pressure
pipe connection, which causes damage to the piping.
Unscrew the cover plate.
Completely drain the tank.
WARNING
Do not step or stand under suspended load!
Lift the pumps out of the tank, individually, by the chain. To do so, use lifting gear (e.g. tripod).
Check whether the shut-off valves open and close easily.
Close the shut-off valves.
CAUTION
Wastewater can escape from the pressure pipe!
Dismantle the backflow preventer and unscrew the service access cover. Clean all components in a water path. This may
require entering the chamber; in this case, separate safety measures are required (testing the air to make sure it is safe/
mechanical ventilation, safety harnesses, tripod and look-out personnel, etc.).
Dismantle the pressure hose at the control unit and flush through, clean the submersible pressure switch.
Re-assemble the cleaned components of the service access cover.
Carry out pump maintenance as described in the enclosed pump instructions.
Re-insert the pump (to do so, lift slightly so that a water bubble does not form under the pump).
Then perform the functional check of the system.
6.3
Functional check
Carry out the following actions to ensure that the system is ready for operation:
Disconnect the control unit from the mains.
Fill the tank with clean water up to the alarm level.
Restore the power supply.
Confirm "Level exceeded" message.
Monitor the pumping out operation of the pump(s).
If no unusual noises (indicating a fault) and error messages occur, the system is ready for operation.
