Configuring a Hard-Disk Drive for Logging

On the flash-based IP561, you can save log files locally by installing and configuring an optional
hard-disk drive. The Nokia IPSO-VN User's Guide and the Nokia IPSO-VN Command-Line
Interface Reference Guide contain instructions for configuring a Nokia appliance to store Nokia
IPSO-VN log messages on the disk. This section explains how to configure an optional disk and
configure it to store log messages on an IP561 appliance.
To install and configure an optional disk in an IP561
1. If necessary, install the optional disk in the appliance as described in
Replacing a Hard-Disk Drive"
2. Restart the appliance if appropriate.
3. Start Nokia Network Voyager.
4. Click System > Configuration > System Maintenance > System Logging.
5. Select the device in the Choose column.
6. Click Apply.
7. Click Save.
Note
The appliance can use only one local logging device at a time.
