Only saw blades suitable for the machine may be used.
The wooden band saw is suitable for private use, not for in-
dustrial use.
Proper use also includes compliance with all information in
this manual. Any use beyond the intended use or otherwise
is considered misuse.
DANGER!
Certain types of wood and wood products produce
harmful dust emissions when processed. Therefore,
use your machine only in a well-ventilated room and
best use an extraction system.
For constructional and technical changes to the Wood
Band Saw, the company Stürmer Maschinen GmbH as-
sumes no liability. Claims of any kind due to damage due
to improper use are excluded.
WARNING!
In case of improper use of the band saw
- there are dangers for people,
- the bandsaw and other assets are endangered,
- The function of the band saw may be impaired.
WARNING!
Severe injuries due to improper use.
Modifications and changes in the operating values of
the band saw are prohibited. They endanger people
and can damage the band saw. Always keep the
operating instructions close to the band saw.
All persons involved in assembly, commissioning, opera-
tion and maintenance must
- have the required qualifications,
- Pay close attention to these operating instructions.
In the case of improper use
- Dangers to persons may arise

dangered,
- The function of the band saw may be impaired.

Before starting work, make sure that the prescribed
body protection products are available at the work-
place.

Speed selection
The harder the material, the lower the speed of the saw
blade must be.

3.1 Misuse

The wood band saw must not be used for sawing metals.
WARNUNG!
Danger in case of misuse!
Misuse of the band saw can lead to dangerous situa-
tions.
- Only operate the band sawin the power range speci-
fied in the Technical Data.
- Never bypass or disable the safety devices.
- Never work on materials other than those specified
for the intended use.
- Only operate the band saw in a technically perfect
condition.
- Never machine several workpieces at the same
time.

3.2 Residual risks

Even if all safety regulations are observed and the ma-
chine is used correctly, there are still residual risks,
which are listed below:
- There is a risk of injury to the upper limbs (e.g.,
hands, fingers).
- Danger from falling or spinning-on workpieces.
- Danger due to inhalation of wood dust in chemi-
cally treated workpieces.
- Breakage / crack of the tool
- Fire hazard with insufficient ventilation of the en-
gine
- Impairment of hearing during prolonged work
without hearing protection
- Risk of injury to the eye from flying parts, even with
safety glasses.
- Risk of injury due to kickback of the cuttings, ejec-
tion of the cuttings or parts thereof.
- Touching rotating parts or tools
- Touching electrical parts.
