Default file name setting [Default file name]

The "Default file name" menu item selects the default name format of an audio file
which is created automatically when recording starts.
You can give a file name of date information (according to the internal realtime
clock) or a scene name with a take number.
• Selecting the "File name mode"
When you highlight "Default File Name" and press the [ENTER/YES] key on the SYS SETUP
menu screen, the second level screen appears. On this screen, "File name mode: ***" is high-
lighted. By pressing the [ENTER/YES] key again, the current setting starts flashing and you can
now make selection using the [MENU] dial. By default, "Take" flashes.
If you select "Take" and press the [ENTER/YES] key, the screen prompts you to set "Default file
name".
You can select from among "Date" and "Take" (the default is "Take".)
The internal realtime clock data (with ".wav", the file extension) is the file name.
Date
Example: B05h 05m 06s 10may 2004.wav
("<DATE>" is shown in the "Next file name" field on the Home screen.)
"<SCENE NAME> + <TAKE NUMBER>" (with ".wav", the file extension) is the file name. The
Take
TAKE NUMBER is incremented automatically each time recording is made.
Example: Last_Scene -001.wav, Last_Scene -002.wav, ...
• Default file name (SCENE NAME/TAKE NUMBER) setting
If you set the "File name mode" to "Take" and press the [ENTER/YES] key, the screen prompts
you to enter the SCENE NAME. (You can enter a desired scene name using the [MENU] dial or
alphanumeric keys, and move the cursor position using [SKIP/CURSOR] keys.)
After entering the desired scene name, pressing the [ENTER/YES] key confirms the scene name,
while the screen prompts you to enter the TAKE NUMBER.
Enter the desired take number with the similar manner, and press the [ENTER/YES] key to
confirm your setting.
Up to 247 ASCII characters can be entered (note that only 55 characters are valid for
BWF). The first character must be alphabetical. ".wav", the file extension, is automati-
SCENE NAME
cally added, therefore, you do not need to enter it.
Any number between 001 and 999 can be entered. (Note: If you enter "000" to the
TAKE NUMBER
TAKE NUMBER field, it is automatically set as "001".
After making "Default file name" setting, press the [STOP/HOME] key to exit the MENU mode.
