Design and Description
Radiant heater
Radiant heater
The radiant heater for infants consists of a heater and a
control system.
The heating component has 4 infra-red ceramic radiant
heaters and a low-voltage halogen lamp.
The ceramic radiant heaters are positioned to ensure that
heat is evenly distributed over the entire bed.
The halogen lamp provides good lighting over the work
area and – in contrast to an electric light bulb – good
colour reproduction, so that diagnostically important
colour nuances are more easily recognised.
The control system is fitted inside the housing at the side.
The touch keyboard with display and entry buttons is on
the side facing the working area.
Fixed heat output is set with manual control (manual
operating mode).
The skin temperature is controlled at a set value by the
skin temperature control system (auto operating mode).
In both operating modes, control routines and alarm
facilities provide the monitoring function.
The built-in timer, activated at the moment of birth,
gives a reminder sound at the times which are relevant
for the APGAR score (1 minute, 5 minutes, 10 minutes).
