Front Suspension
- Insert drive shaft into press.
K - Hold drive shaft tight and press out the tri-
pod star.
- Pull joint together with joint boot off the drive
shaft.
- Clean drive shaft and joint.
Assembling
- Fit small hose strap for joint boot onto the
drive shaft.
- Push joint boot onto the drive shaft.
- Push joint onto the drive shaft.
Installing tripod star
K - Clamp the drive shaft in a vice with protec-
tive jaws.
Note:
Chamfer -arrow- on the tripod star should face
toward the drive shaft. The chamfer is used as
an assembly aid.
- Fit tripod star onto the drive shaft according
to the marking made and knock on as far as
the stop.
- Insert new circlip; ensure circlip is correctly
located.
- Fit rollers onto the tripod star according to
the markings.
- Take drive shaft out of the vice.
- Push joint over the rollers and hold tight.
- Clamp joint in the vice.
