Extra Heating Zone Accessory Pack
Electrical Connections—Thermostats
When using 2 heating zones with FTC4 based controls the recommended option for control
is to use compatible third party programmable thermostats to suit the following specification:
Name
Signal input wire
Switch (or Thermostat)
These thermostats must be third party items and connect to IN1 (zone 1) and IN6 (zone 2), both SW2-1
and SW3-1 MUST be turned ON if IN1 and IN6 are to be utilised.
DIP Switch Changes
In order to operate the system in 2 zone mode please refer to the table on page 40 of the main manual, in addition
when using third party thermostats please follow the above instructions.
Controller Settings
When using the system in 2 zone mode with third party thermostats the following controller settings should be made:
• Weather compensation mode should be enabled
on each zone, neither zone should be run in room
compensation mode, with 2 zones connected the
following screen will be shown by clicking on the
heating sub menu
• Both zones should have the
following weather compensation
symbol selected:
• Settings can be edited by holding down the main
menu button for 3 seconds, this will unlock the
'pen and paper' symbol on the compensation
curve screen
• The compensation curve for each zone MUST be set
with identical parameters
• The individual zones can be run in either timeclock or constant operation or restricted
on the main controller as per a single zone system, to switch between zones the following
button should be pressed:
• The hot water operation is still controlled by the main controller
