5. Close the computer and turn it over.
 
6. Remove the seven screws that secure the palm rest to the computer base.
 
7. Turn the computer over and open the display as far as possible.
 
8. Lift the connector latch, then pull the pull-tab and disconnect the touch pad cable from the system board connector.
 
9. Remove the six screws that secure the palm rest to the computer base.
 
10. Make a note of the speaker cable routing and carefully dislodge the cable from the routing guides on the palm rest.
