10 TROUBLESHOOTING

1.
Q: What can I do if the system does not detect the HDD?
A: Check that the power supply is connected correctly, that the data and electric cables and wires are appropriately
connected and that everything is in order on the HDD interface. Alternatively, check that the HDD is compatible,
referring to the specifications or descriptions.
2.
Q: I have changed the password and forgotten the new one. How can I access the system?
A: Contact our technical personnel to recover the system password. You are strongly advised to set passwords
which are easy to remember and relatively secure. In the case of particular security requirements, avoid excessively
obvious passwords, like 000000.
3.
Q: Can I add an IP camera with different protocols?
A: Yes, you can. The NVR can automatically recognise the right protocol.
4.
Q: When I connect the NVR and the IP camera the video signal is abnormal or totally absent. Both devices are
powered correctly. What is wrong?
A: Check that the network cable on the NVR side is connected firmly, is not worn and does not need to be replaced.
Check that NTSC or PAL is selected on both devices.
5.
Q: How can I prevent the NVR from overheating?
A: The NVR must cool down during operation. Place the NVR in a well-ventilated position away from sources of heat
to ensure the stability and long-lasting operation of the device.
6.
Q: The remote control of the NVR is not working but the screen and control panel buttons are all working properly.
Why is that?
A: Try again pointing the remote control towards the IR receiver on the front panel. If it still does not work, check that
the batteries are not flat. Otherwise, the remote control may be faulty.
7.
Q: I want to remove the HDD from my PC and install it on the NVR. Can I do this?
A: All HDDs supported by the system can be used. However, it is important to remember that all data stored on the
HDD will be lost when the NVR is started.
8.
Q: Can I playback while recording?
A: Yes. The system supports the playback function while recording.
9.
Q: Can I delete some recordings from the NVR HDD?
A: It may not be possible to delete part of the recordings for file security reasons. The HDD can be formatted to
delete all recordings.
