Cleaning and Disinfecting your Element
Element™ Plus reusable lancing device
1. Wash your hands before performing cleaning and disinfection procedures.
2. Remove a wipe from the container and follow product label instruction to
clean and disinfect appropriately.
3. Check if the used lancet was removed or not.
4. Wipe the outside of the reusable lancing device carefully (3 passes both
vertically and horizontally). The reusable lancing device should remain
visibly wet for 2 minutes after the completion of each treatment.
* To clean the reusable lancing device, wipe it with a CaviWipesXL™
towelette and leave it wet for 2 minutes.
* To disinfect the reusable lancing device, wipe it with another a
CaviWipesXL™ towelette and leave it wet for 2 minutes.
Caution :
• Take extreme care not to get liquid in the reusable lancing device.
Do not use any type of spray product on your meter.
• To achieve disinfection of all the stated efficacy kill claims, the lancing device
should remain visibly wet for 2 minutes right after the completion of each
treatment.
5. Dispose of used wipes.
6. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling the lancing
device or test strips.
Be sure to clean and disinfect your lancing device when you get dirt, blood or
any type of liquid on it. It also should be cleaned and disinfected periodically.
We recommend that you perform the cleaning and disinfection procedures
once per week.

Note :
After cleaning and disinfecting your lancing device always double check to
make sure it is working correctly.
Warning:
Do not share reusable lancing device with anyone including other family
members!
Note:
Your Element™ Plus Meter has an expected life of 3 years and should
withstand the cleaning and disinfecting recommended in this Owner's Manual.
The meter and lancing device were wiped daily with CaviWipes (using two
cleaning/disinfecting steps) for a consecutive three years. This amounts to a
total of 1,095 times overall. There were no changes observed in performance,
accuracy or appearance. However, if any of the following physical and
functional signs of deterioration appear after cleaning and disinfection of the
devices, please contact us at 1-888-446-3246.
• Cloudy meter display.
• Meter displays broken characters or icons.
• Meter will not power on.
• The voice function does not work.
• Control solution test falls out of range.
• Lancing device does not function.
• Meter buttons or strip ejector does not function.
